Surprising Sri Lanka

it was appealing. it was more than surprising to experience a country i know less of its land than its people. i ve been seeing a lot of sri lankan ladies working in many of my families and friends houses. u see them in lebanon, Jordan and many gulf countries. my honeymoon over there were a real eye-opener.

our 9 days were booked thru an agent in Jordan. once we arrived we were happy to see all the green fields. in Colombo there wasnt much to see except the heavy security barricades. we stayed next to the air force base at the Grand Cinammon hotel. a beautiful relaxing hotel with excellent food and service.

Bentuta was such a great escape. we stayed at the Taj Exotica Hotel. Indian ocean was roaring; crushing white waves from an endless blue horizon, blowing chilling winds and a nice sizzling sun. all the beach had red flags and swimming is prohibited throughout the year. a lot of the workers at the hotels gather around and play beach volleyball and promote their beach side restaurants tourists.

its just been beautiful! every city and village we visit we experience great hospitality and orderly people going and coming from work. lifes simple and nicely organised.
